Raginggeek, 46

I'm a fairly cliché introverted geek. I suppose I would even qualify as a recluse geek. But then, society out there says you're supposed to like booze, loud obscene music, and professional sports, and if it means being able to avoid those, being a recluse is fine with me. Why bother with all that when there's so much good science fiction etc. on TV, half of which, by the way, is in animation. Yep, I even have a big silly collection of figurines and toys. (What good is growing up if you can't still buy fun things?)

There's a chapter in the book "The Dilbert Principle" that describes stereotypes of geeks, and when I read it I was both relieved that there were enough other people like me to dedicate an entire chapter of a book to, and a little worried that I was perfectly described by what was clearly meant as satire. At least there is symmetry. I love my "You know you're an engineer when you can mathematically prove you have no life." button, it sums it up so well.

Oh yeah, I'm a decent guy and all the rest of that, blah blah, sorry, having too much fun with self-depreciation. I know I'm not a conventional guy, I accept it and thrive on it. Society pokes fun at geeks, and hey, it's all true, so I gotta poke fun too.

Randomness: I'm a cat person. I'm not a huge gamer, but I try to keep up with the popular Nintendo series. Politically, I am a conservative Republican.
