Intellect looking for thoughtful mate I am an intelligent young man looking for a good conversation partner with whom I can talk about philosophy, social sciences, psychology, artificial intelligences and aliens. I am driven to learn more about the world I live in, and I want a partner who feels the same, ideally somebody who I can build a life with.

I'm not the most diligent science-fiction lover, but I think that science fiction does have something it can teach us about the world. Both as a narrative, and also as an investigation of possibilities.

I don't have a favorite science fiction series. I used to be a Star Wars fan and read books on the extended universe. However, I do enjoy Robert Heinlein, Vernor Vinge, and Charlie Stross, or at least what I've read by them, and I would be thrilled to read more and learn more about the science fiction genre, especially areas where it explores an interesting idea.

Also, to be honest, my ideas often times seem to veer into realms many would consider science fiction. I am very interested in learning more about artificial intelligence. I am a tranhumanist who believes that human-modification(cybernetic or genetic) is a good thing. I'm even willing to consider the idea that mankind is NOT the end of our evolution and that really the next step for our civilization is to be inherited by AIs. Unlike humans, AIs have a better chance of inheriting the stars, as the cold of space means less to our machinery than it does to biology.
