I'm just a lifelong science fiction fan, mainly of the Asimov/Clarke style, who got into engineering because I wanted to make the stuff of my sci-fi dreams come to life. I love machines, and I love designing them. My interests are transportation, from automobiles to aircraft to spacecraft. I love reading all sorts of science fiction, because it is that speculation that shapes the minds of the next generation and in its own way is a self-fulfilling prophecy, but I digress. I love intelligent debate or discussion of natural science, philosophy, politics, any of those things. These mean much more to me than idle conversation.
