I started reading science-fiction and fantasy books when I was about 8 years old (Tom Swift, John Carter of Mars, Tarzan, Doc Savage, etc.) and have never quit. I ALWAYS have a current sci-fi or fantasy book underway and read during any meal that I am not sharing with friends/family/co-workers and at bed time now and again. I tend to prefer my settings with a military twist but am not restricted to that. Some of my recent favorites have included low-end stuff like Harry Potter and deeper stuff like Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. I'll ready anything Zelazny ever wrote along with any of Weber's sci-fi books (Honor Harrington ROCKS!), Glenn Cook's Black Company series, and the Wheel of Time series as fast as Jordan puts it out. Ditto with Martin's Song of Ice and Fire books.
