Sci-Fi lover programming geek I love science fiction of most types on visual media such as TV and the Cinema. Douglas Adams is also a high scorer on my ranking of awesomeness. Other favourites are Dollhouse, Farscape, Terminator, and Witchblade
Battlestar Galactica has to be one of my favourites (the remake and the original each on their own merits).
I don't have a favourite captain, however, I really enjoyed the ride provided by Voyager. I didn't have subscription TV to see DS9 while it was airing, and have only caught various episodes individually, but I quite enjoyed the eps I've seen. TNG was and always will be awesome, and different to the original which I feel stands well on it's own. The movies are pretty much all awesome in my mind, especially the genius universe reset introduced in the 2009 incarnation.
