I met Gene Roddenberry!
I'll never forget what Gene Roddenberry told Star Trek fans at Stony Brook's first iCON in 1980,"It always impresses me when fans quote dialogue verbatim. "He added "What would impress me ever more was if they applied the show's philosophy in their everyday lives!" It took me awhile to realize what he meant. He was saying to fans not to live stagnant lives in their parent's basements but work hard and use their God Given talents to make society better!
