Somewhere out there is the Anima to my Animus, someone who may complement my best qualities and who I in turn might strengthen. I am fairly outgoing in certain venues but am shy when in a new environment until I can adapt. I work in the mental health field and believe that we can all recover from our pasts and find fulfillment. I have a rather dry sense of humor, which was influenced greatly by Looney Tune cartoons, the Marx Brothers, and Monty Python. I am also often considered to be a little bit "weird," which is due to a mild case of Asperger's Syndrome. Considering the field I work in, I have made great progress in overcoming its limitations, but it's still a work-in-progress. I'm low-maintenance and would like to find an emotionally healthy lady who shares my interests and complements my personality. I am more than willing to accept all of her charms and foibles if she can do the same for mine. Beneath my cynical exterior I am really an idealist who hopes for the best while expecting just the opposite. Like all of us, I am a bundle of contradictions, but I recognize my flaws and strive to overcome them. And "We" are always stronger (and happier) than "I." Interests? Favorite writers include Tolkien, Poe, Clark Ashton Smith, R. E. Howard, Heinlein, Caitlin Kiernan, Thomas Ligotti, Jerry Pournelle, David Weber, S. M. Stirling, and John Ringo. I enjoy reading and collecting books, watching movies, conventions and travel, cooking, the arts, music. I used to enjoy working out but fell out of the habit and put on a lot of weight. I would love to have someone with whom to go to the gym and get back into shape. I am libertarian politically and an Army veteran. I am a non-prosletyzing Atheist/freethinker and dislike any system of dogma, religious, political or otherwise.
