Once I realized that there was a site for like minded Sci-fi fans, I thought this might be a good place to look. I am a single dad and have a son who lives with me half of the month. Of course, I love sci-fi and am looking to meet someone special, hopefully, with similar interests, who doesn't look at me like I'm nuts for liking science fiction, and sci-fi based TV shows and movies. Friendship is fine, but ultimately the goal is truly to find my Imzadi. Of course, trying to explain that to someone who is NOT a fan of Star Trek is like trying to explain to Woody Allen why it's not ok to date, and ultimately marry your adopted daughter. I also think that finding a woman who is a fan of and genuinely enjoys science fiction, automatically makes them eminently more interesting, and someone I would be more comfortable in dating and getting to know better. Sure, physical attraction is important, very important actually, but you have to be able to have a conversation. And, while I would not expect (or even want) to talk about sci-fi all the time, it's a good basis for finding someone open to the possibilities. I've been married once, and would certainly consider doing it again, it's not something that is a MUST. I would just like to be involved with someone interesting, who gets me, who digs me, and vice versa. Life is too short to sit around waiting someone special. You have to go out and find her. And, this seems as good as a place to find someone as any I've run across. I have been on other dating sites, but so far, there has not been a lot of spark. That chemistry has been missing. I am a great guy, with a lot to offer, and I am in decent shape. Obviously, I love sci-fi...TV, movies, books...but I also have other interests, as well as enjoy other types of genres as well.
