Seeking Stimulating Coversation The best science fiction stimulates brain cells, not only by envisioning the future but also by forcing readers to contemplate the present. Having lived in rural areas most of my life, I've had a difficult time connecting with science fiction enthusiasts. I'm bored and looking for intelligent conversation with open-minded people who haven't allowed their brains to fall out.

My favorites are Card's Enderverse, BSG (at the time I loved the original, now I think it's goofy and LOVE the remake) Aliens, Matrix, anything Asimov, Clarke, anything Trek, Quantum Leap (Bakkula - the ideal hero in both roles) and the absurdity of HHGttG.

I also enjoy hard science, history, social sciences - I'm a true jack of all trades and master of none.

I collect Star Trek, Quantum Leap, and Indiana Jones books - as well as any other book I can get my hands on.

I also love murder mysteries and psychological thrillers (NCIS, Criminal Minds, Bone Collector, etc.), but have no interest in blood and guts horror.

Somehow, I never managed to master superficiality -- or the chat room.
