To Boldly Go . . . I'm a laid-back prof and lifelong TOS fan; I'm not much on any of the later series, though I found "Firefly" a terrific libertarian, postmodern variation on TOS's liberal, modern vision of the future -- I thought it was genius that Trek's benign Federation morphs into Firefly's sinister Alliance. I have lots of non-Trek interests, so if you're like the lady in the movie I never saw who wore her TNG uniform to jury duty we've probably not got that much in common. I'm a Christian and a history buff, politically conservative but not a rabid partisan (more George Will than Rush Limbaugh, if that makes sense). Personally I'm romantic and optimistic, looking forward to meeting my partner for the second half of my journey but glad to make new friends along the way.
