Here is the teaser trailer. It revolves around a monster attack in New York City told from the point of view of a group of people.

Just Saw it in front Of Beawolf, First saw it in front of Transformers but it gave you no information not eve the name of the Movie. The trailer is fantastic not giving you too much a head of time but gets you interested. Most trailers, you can figure outhe plot, shows you who is in the movie (even cameos) and shows all the best scenes. I like this cloverfield Trailer, I hope the movie is good too cause I want to see it first day.

Will someone shut that man up

It looks like a "Blair Witch Project" type of film that has a guy running around with a video camera recording the events as they happen. Most likely I'll check it out on DVD, sometimes films are over hyped and you end up being disappointed.

Yeah...just like when I had to watch "the Waterboy" in order to see the Phantom Menace trailer...

There are 10 types of people in this world...Those who know Binary, and those who don't.

It's a fake trailer some fan made. It's a good one at that.

I agree that some movies...ok a lot of them, don't live up to the hype. I think Cloverfield may be one that I actually go see in the theater. The thing that intrigues me the most is the director. I really like what he does on Lost (ok, sometimes I want to him for LOST), but there's usually never a dull moment.

Well it's been getting good reviews on the net, one described it as "a love story.", looks like it might not be bad after all.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just came from a matinee showing and had to post on it.

First, the Trek Tailer I think the Chicago Tribune already did a story on it. You have JFK "We choose to the Moon" speach, The Radio Transmissions from Tranquility Base, and Spocks monalogue from WOK done over welders assembling the Enterprise. That why it uses the tag line "Star Trek, Under construction"

Now, the movie it's self, It is just What you would expect, GODZILLA MEETS BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.
lots of action, great effects, but no answers.
This would be a great way to do the telling of War of the Worlds in the classic fassion. It also leaves space for a sequal.
Don't wait for the DVD you will want to see it on the big screen and at home you will be tempted to leap through the slow parts.

I can totally say that this film lived up to the hype. Shaky camera aside, the visual effects were pretty good and I think the surprise party in the beginning is essential to get a feel for the characters. They show the monster in glimpses in the beginning, more so in the middle until you get a full view at the end. This is really one of those films you have to see in the theater with with a good sound system. I wasn't expecting much from Cloverfield but was pleasantly surprised.

I've heard Cloverfield has some Lovecraftian influences...am I wrong? I kind of want to see it, but not to the point where I want to pay money for it.

Hi Casey, the monster does look like something out of lovecraft, but that's about it. Pay for it, see a matinee if you have to.

I agree, Get Discount Tix or hit a Matinee. You need the big screen, you need the advance sound system, you must give yourself over the the Darkness and the silver screen. imerse yourself in the movie
