And Simone's father was part of the conspiracy, too. THAT I never expected. I was sure glad to see Nathan pull his head out of his butt and finally find his heroic side. And, yes, I have heard the George Takei will be playing Kensei. More GT is always a good thing. Heck of a season finale and the cliffhanger isn't an excrutiating one. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

For months they have been teasing us about a big battle between Sylar and Peter, a few punches later and its over. No awesome superhero battle using their powers? If you're going to make a series about super heroes at least go all the way. The rest of the episode was fine, but I was expecting more.

I've been trying to think back to the ads and I can't say I'm certain I remember them actually promising the series would end with a battle royale between Peter and Sylar. I mean, I knew they'd face off because that's obviously where the series was headed, and we got some indication of a fight with superpowers in the episode set 5 years in the future, and also in the encounter at Mohinder's apartment. I think they left enough stuff open-ended that I definitely can't wait until next season to see what happens next, but at least it wasn't (as was already mentioned) an excruciating cliff-hanger.
I would hope to see some better explanation of the whole "Save the World" business. I mean, we're talking one guy going nuclear in Manhattan, and even in the five years in the future episode it wasn't like NY was flattened, in fact lots of buildings were still standing and they were already rebuilding! So the "Save the World" (I suspect) doesn't really refer to physical destruction. Guess we'll have to wait and see - or maybe not, since they actually DID prevent the catastrophe, maybe the world is no longer in peril (whatever that global peril was to be)?

I don't think the Save The World was because of the bomb, but because of the person worse than Sylar that was mentioned. Of course, the Save The World was originally from the future Hiro and could had to do with with what was happening to the powered people in the future. Not so much a literal "save the world" but a "save the world from the dark times ahead" that would have occurred if the bomb had gone off. Cause, it was turning into a pretty crappy world.

Like Nathan said "The future isn't set in stone." and in the future episode Peter did destroy half the city, Claire literally changed the future by convincing Nathan to help Peter in the finale. Volume Two starts a new storyline so the "Save the world" clever ad campaign is over.
