For me this is the most anticipated movie of the year, and I hope it lives up to expectations. I still get goosebumps when I hear Marlon Brando voice and the musical score from the original film on the "Returns" trailer.

This one and Clerks 2 are two of the biggest ones for me this year. Next year, Mr. Singer begins production on the new Logan's Run film. He'll be shooting in Berlin, by all accounts. Berlin has sort of become the place for science fiction shooting. Aeon Flux was filmed there, as was Equilibrium. Me and a buddy here at the station want to take some leave when that happens. We want to be extras in the production.

Maybe I'll get to be a Sandman, and die spectacularly. That would be cool.

I was blown away by the original Superman (1979) film as a kid, I must have seen it five times in the theater. Christopher Reeves will always be Superman to me. I don't envy the new guy, he's got some big shoes to fill.

I really do hope the new Superman lives up to my expectations. It looks interesting. I'm not the biggest superman fan - a guy from a high G planet that can apparently fly around the world just seems too ummmm silly to me, but I did like some of the TV series. We'll see what they can do. I did enjoy the first movie with Christopher Reeve, the others were really quite bad imo.

Logan's Run - now that is a movie I am dying to see remade. I absolutely loved it when I first saw it, and have wished for something more ever since. Now that being said, I think part of my initial enthusiasm was a general drought of scifi, and this one was a better one.

cheers

So loving what I'm hearing. Damn what happened to X-Men, but hey, we still get a rockin' Supes film.

It was screened for critics last month, and most of them have been positive reviews. Everything is pointing that this will be the best superhero movie of all-time.

I've seen the trailers and I have to admit they look really cool. They also moved up the release date so it'll be on a Wed. instead of Friday.

I'm trying to moderate my expectations so that I can be substantially impressed

Love the trailer I just saw.

I'm already set to see it tomorrow, although I'm a little worried about the mixed reviews from fans. Some say it's too long and that the last 30 minutes should be cut. We shall see.

Saw the movie last night and I have to say that it was really awesome. Brandon Routh was a good Clark Kent and Kevin Spacey was a good Lex Luthor (but no one can top Gene Hackman from the original). The only problems I had with the movie was Kate Bosworth's Louis Lane, the few plot holes, and the scenes in the hospital. But other than those things the visual effects were really neat and overall it was a good movie and one of the few (that I've seen so far this season) that lived up to its hype.

I agree it was a great movie, a few problems here and there, maybe they should have edited it down to two hours. I agree about Kate, for one thing she just looks too young to play the part, not to mention she didn't do a convincing job of being Lois Lane. Kevin Spacey did a good job as Lex but it's always fun to watch him act. I swear their were a few angles here and there that Routh looked exactly like Christopher Reeves. Some people might be disappointed that there's not a big climactic confrontation at the end, but there's a reason for that so I won't reveal the big spoiler. I say check it out this 4th of July, the special effects alone is worth the price of the tickets.

True, there were a few parts where it seemed to drag a bit. I read somewhere that Routh modeled his Clark/Superman after Reeves, which I think is really cool. And it was neat to finally see James' eyes for more than five seconds.

MODELED!!! he channeled Reeves. I hope in the next one (oh yes there will be another) he takes ownership of the character.
