If you are into cosplay (i.e. making costumes based on TV and movie characters) and want to do Star Wars costumes, Sci Fi Weekly at scifi.com has anice article/link to a website you MUST look at:

Speaking as someone who's actually made a Star Wars costume and joined the 501st, that is one hell of an invaluable resource!

Master Replicas has issued a build your own, customized lightsaber kit.
I can sum up my disappointment in one word:
PLASTIC.
Once assembled the unit has no weight to it and the blade color is challenged by ordinary room light.
Granted some die-hard, rabid fanatics will grab up these kits and giggle because they have them and the rest of us don't. Hey, knock yourselves out.
Given the level of quality I've experienced in other Master Replicas products, I expected more for my $100---namely, metal parts.
I would have paid more for metal handles and a brighter blade.

`Thanks for that link, fringey.
I must say I'm ridiculously fanatical as a SW costumer. Jaina Solo and Marasiah Fel are the ultimate weaknesses to my pocketbook.
Jaina Solo because I act like her, Marasiah Fel because ----... I have hair like that naturally. ^_^ That being said, I'm totally out for a Jagged Fel or Antares Draco to cosplay with, hee hee!
As for the build your own, I own one. It's fun but I'm totally a lover of the sabers over at Nocturne Armory and Saber Forge. You can actually duel hardcore with them!
