You've probably seen the trailer on TV, it's 8 Films To Die For Horrorfest. After Dark Films will release eight new horror films in 500 theaters in 35 cities around the United States for one weekend only, Nov, 17, 18 and 19. Check the theater's list link to see if they're playing in your area.

Special pass tickets are probably sold out by now, but you can get individual tickets for each film at your local movie theater.

I will probably wait to get these from Netflix. I find it difficult to pay so much for movie movies tickets (not to mention driving forty miles, one way, to the closest theater) for films I don't know anything about. I DO love the idea though and hope it is successful. Great for indie horror filmmakers and for the genre in general.

I do think 8 movies is a bit much, but I will try to see at least three if I can. I've look at the trailers and the movies I'm most interested in are "Unrest", "Gravedancers" and "Wicked Little Things". Word is "Gravedancers" is the one to see, and from looking at the trailer it looks like one hell of a scary movie.

I definitely look forward to seeing them, whether on DVD or in some other way. Hopefully this will be successful enough to expand into more markets next year so the films will be more accessible to everyone.

Well I have good news and bad news, I was disappointed with "Unrest". Looked like it was shot with an $800 video camera and it didn't help that most of the murders happened off screen. The filmmakers try to gross you out instead of trying to scare you. "Gravedancers" on the other hand was better when it comes to ghosts and the supernatural. It did have some funny moments but mostly played it straight horror. I have read some reviews of the other films online and most have been disappointments to okay. The 8 Films to Die For Horrorfest is kind of a success $2.5 million in only 466 theaters is not bad.

I am glad to see supernatural horror making such a big comeback. I have always been a fan of "gothics" (like Hammer Films, the original The Haunting, etc.) and I think the Japanese have done us a huge favor by making them popular again. "Gravedancers" sounded interesting, so I am glad to see you give it a passing grade.
