Just got back from a Matinee of Pirates.... With a year till the airing date, 07/04/07, they have the teaser and posters out. My fear is they would go the Spy Kids/ Thunderbirds route. in other words Kid orientated. The tag lines were: on the poster "Their War, Our World" . The Teaser was about the loss of the mars probe and how it was the Transformer's fault. The tag line "that was our first warning... we should have listened"
any Thoughts ? |

Well I like director Michael Bay (The Island), his movies are summer blockbuster popcorn flicks. Considering the original cartoon was for kids you have to expect that, and the studio wants as many bodies on those seats to make their money back. You can also count on Michael Bay not to be stingy on the special effects, so I expect the CGI to be awesome.

There is two way it can go. Thunderbirds: origional concept with preteens in the lead Think Spy Kids. or Batman: True to origional yet with a mature Dark edge. This looks like the direction they are headed (I hope) |

I saw that new trailer. Honestly, I was too old to be a fan of the Transofrmers when it came out and I was not really planning to see the movie in the theater. But, the trailer looks great, and I may change my mind as we see more.

The movie is looking real good since they started broadcasting the TV promos plus showing some of the Transformers in action even though it's just for a few seconds.

I got back from seeing Transformers and it's the most visually stunning movie this summer, it blows the competition away. Don't expect any great acting or a pilot that makes much sense, just get ready for an action packed film that's true to the animated series. A definite must see film for July 4.
