Has any one been reading the books that have continued to story of our beloved characters up to 30 years past the Return of the Jedi?

If so what do you think?

What's been good about them?

Whats been bad about them?

Who is your favorite new character?

Well, ya'll hit me up with some responses.

I have always been interested in reading the books directly following Episode VI.

What would be the first book to read and do you know what books would come in cronological order, if one was to go purchase them? Thanks

I love the books. espeacialy Timothy Zhan's books. Grand Admiral Thrawn is my favorite character but Talon Carde and Mara Jade-Skywalker are close second. Just Finished "Outbound Flight" now that is a way to show the turn of a jedi

Most of the books have a full time line in the back but the stories jump around "Outbound Flight", one of the newer books, takes place a few years after Phantom Mennace

The New Jedi Order Series is good with the Solo Kids. I am surprised Lucas doesn't go that route for new movies ( think Harry Potter as a Jedi)

I have read a number of them, with my favorite being the New Jedi Order series that cooky mentioned. But, there are far too many of them I have not read to make a judgement on them. I WOULD like to see who they might cast as Mara Jade of Yvone Isard if they made a movie or TV series. And I think the X-Wing books would be cool to see live action, too.

I'm currently filling in the "Clone Wars gap" before I resume the NJO then take on the Legacy era. I'm not sure it's the worst thing, but Chewbacca's death is without doubt my least favorite thing to occur. For characters, it's a tossup between Corran Horn, Thrawn, Baron Soontir Fel, and Wedge Antilles.

wow, this thread is old... i shall post here anyways

generally, i read all over the place, not specific series or in order. i've read a few of the NJO, a couple in the x-wing series and a couple in the legacy series. rogue planet, shatterpoint and dark lord were awesome too.
zahn is my favorite though, i love mara jade.
