Is Star Trek on Life Support?

After seeing the trailer for the upcoming movie I was very impressed with what I saw on the other hand it's only a two-minute trailer and ultimately we will judging it after its release. After reading online about the reaction to the the trailer and expectations from Star Trek fans there seems to be a resurgent of excitement for the franchise. Also the mainstream audience/media seems to be interested as well, a friend of mine (that's not into science-fiction at all) said that even he would see it. So for the time being it looks like Star Trek might be off life support and breathing on its own.

That's odd, because I saw what is most likely the same trailer, and decided I'd rather dig up and ass----- Roddenberry's corpse than pay to see this ----ed up "Dawson's Creek" version of the show I've loved for the last 42 years.

If this "Gossip Girl" version does anything but tank at the box office, then ---- the franchise,
---- the studio "suits",
---- J.J. Abrams, and
---- the low-grade morons who buy tickets to this hog slop,
because I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out.
