Kind of like with 'Episode 1' and the first few seasons of 'Enterprise' with 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek' fans, right? |

Hummmm...... I don't know about that. I still cringe when I remember Boxy and the other guy using Colonial motorcycles that fly, and hearing "Chips" music in the background. It's safe to say that Galactica 1980 is the worst show ever. |

Not sure about worst show ever, threshold was pretty dire from about the third eps unless it was cut different over here. Now a prequal to BSG, hmmm i smell money being thrown around and not good writing and clever plots, it seems tv execes can only have one idea at a time, look how many rubbish reality(spots on ground) shows are around |

Wouldn't it be a cool concept to have the "human" Cylons turned out to be based on their creators exactly? that would give a way for a crossover. EEWW!! What if Six was based on Baltars Mother.
But I agree, its a money Grab |

It may be a mony grab but from the writers point of view and one who needs to or wants to tell the beginning of the story instead of the middle and onword then Caprica might be better than what we all think but who knows that is what the future has in store.

I hadn't seen this post before. I think it is interesting that, in almost six months, we have heard nothing more about this "prequel". I am not sure whether it would be a good thing or not, but will reserve my judgement until it actually airs. If it does. My main fear is that it might draws writers away from the current series and the stories could suffer for it on BSG. I definitely don't want to see that happen.
As for Galactica 80...well, maybe not the worst series ever, but it does make my teeth grind in annoyance everytime they re-air it on Sci Fi!

That is true, I just hope that they actually make the show and we find out that it was just a rumor started by some BSG fan.
As for BS1980, I laugh every time it's on that channel.
Look, I didn't hear and screaming or squishing sounds. |

For BSG1980 I do agree that Larson and universal didn't need to do the series, thank god it only lasted 13 episodes. But you know I would like to see a movie ending to the orignal series or a minseries ending like what they did with farscape.

Eh, I could live without a ending to the original series but someone of my friends want "closure".
Look, I didn't hear and screaming or squishing sounds. |

Strange we haven't heard anything in months about the prequel, I'm kind of hoping they dropped the whole idea. I wouldn't want this spinoff to be their "Galactica 1980". I still say they should wait a few more seasons, then think and plan out another show.

Well its official, Sci-Fi Channel has given the green light to "Caprica", but you may have to wait awhile. Production of the TV series will start next summer with a scheduled debut for 2010.
