Kevin McKidd who plays Roman centurion Lucius Vorenus on the HBO drama ROME has been given the lead in the NBC time travel pilot "journeyman". His film credits include Trainspotting, Dog Soldiers, and the recently released Hannibal Rising.

NBC announced it has picked up journeyman for its lineup of new shows. The sci-fi drama starring Kevin McKidd as a man who is able to travel through time and "fix" people's lives. However, his actions also have unintentional effects on the future.

Just saw the previews ahttp://www.nbc.com/Fall_Preview/journeyman/ Looks good but might be confused with the proposed American version of "life on Mars" by David E Kelly

This sounds more like an updated version of Quantum Leap to me. I'll give it a shot.

From the previews I've seen it looks good as long as they don't make it into a sappy love story. It will be interesting to see how he tries to save his fiance's life while dealing with his wife in the present, not to mention the feelings he still has. Also what are the consequences of him changing the past? Will it be good or bad for the timeline when he helps someone? Either way I'm seeing it, I think Kevin McKidd is one hell of a good actor.

yup it's a lot like Quantum leap and a little sappy.

But wait!!! his ex fiance is alive and jumping through time too thats a neat little rinkle. I can't compare it to the graphic novel cause i never read it but the show is certainly worth watching. maybe they could lighten up a bit

The show is in danger of being canceled by NBC, kind of sucks because the show has gotten much better since the pilot. It's definitely not like Quantum Leap, the only similarity is that Dan helps people in his travels, but the subplot and promise is completely different. Looks like NBC is going to make another mistake if they cancel this series.

I don't think I am much upset by the prspect of journeyman being cancelled. While it is a good show overall, the lack of an explanation has gotten really tedious.

Doesn't really matter anymore, the deadline to order more episodes has passed which pretty much tells me NBC has canceled the series even though it's not officially announced.
