David Nutter will direct "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" for Warner Bros. TV, to air on the Fox network. Nutter has directed episodes of Smallville, Supernatural, and Without a Trace. Nutter says he is up to the task of following in Blockbuster Director James Cameron's footsteps even with a smaller TV budget.

So The Terminator TV series will make its debut, so my question is can they make this work only with Sarah and her son (no word yet if there will be a terminator in the series)? Will you even watch?

I'm not sure this one would be a good series. I mean, for it to work, there has to be a terminator. Also, where would it fall in the story line? Before the third film but after the second I guess.

I'd rather see the story of John Conner and how he starts up the rebellion. There's plenty of action and story plots there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beware the beast Man for he is the Devil's pawn.
Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, or ----, or greed.
Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land.
Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert out of his home and yours.
Shun him. Drive him back into his jungle lair.
For he is the harbinger of death.

I really don't know how they're going to pull this off, they better have a cool pilot because I wouldn't want this to be about Sarah and her son helping people along the way in small towns (a la Highway to Heaven), or running away from a terminator nearly getting killed each week. That would really be a lame premise for this show.

I also think they would have done better with stories that take place in the war ravaged future against the machines.

The timeline would take place after the events of Terminator 2.

Actually, I would think it would have to be somewhat the reverse of
"Highway to Heaven."

I didn't really like T2, but I found the psychology of Sarah Connor's
character fascinating.

Because she truly believed that in a few years, almost everyone would
die, it freed her up to take actions that she otherwise would have
found morally wrong. But, if you are fighting for the future of
those few human survivors years from now, what does it matter
if you kill a few people today?

As such, we could see characters faced with morally questionable
decisions making intriguing choices along the way each week because
of their for-knowledge of their long term role to play in humanity's
survival.

But how do you retain your humanity, your compassion, if you
do so?

Idunno. Could be interesting for a while.

And Smallville has certainly done well. Seeing what goes into
making another "hero" could be fun.

This will be on Fox Network and I'm betting the suits want an action series. I mean the whole psychological state of Sarah Conner sounds interesting but you can do that in three episodes. What about the other 19 episodes? Since Smallville was mentioned we could have the teenage anguish angle for John Conner with a cute girl of the week.

Decker goes from Heroes to Terminator. Thomas Decker, who is a recurring character on the NBC superhero drama Heroes, has been cast as the lead in Fox sci-fi action pilot The Sarah Conner Chronicles.

I am finding it hard to garner any enthusiasm for this show, and I am not sure why. Loyalty to the lovely Linda Hamilton maybe?
