It looks like the new season on Dcotor Who will kick off in the U.K. on March 31, with us possibly getting it on Sci Fi as early as Summer, right after the first run ends on BBC. Still no offical dates though, so that is just a rumor at this point.

Oh, SFC will air Series Three, it is just a question of "WHEN". It has been to good a ratings maker for them to not air it.

The first episode of Series 3 of the new "Doctor Who" has aired. Personally I felt it wasn't as strong an opening as Series 1 & 2 had, which makes me concerned that Russell T. Davies is possibly spreading himself too thin with oversight of too many Who-related projects (in addition to Doctor Who's third season there is also the 13 part animated series, the "Sarah Jane Smith Adventures" has been picked up for a debut season, and "Torchwood" is working on its second season). Reminds me a bit of when Joss Whedon was simultaneously working on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," and "Firefly" all at the same time - in my opinion both Buffy and Angel suffered for it as his attention was clearly on Firefly (too bad Fox Broadcasting's attention wasn't on it).

When I first saw still shots of the aliens from "Smith & Jones" I thought "Cool! They're going to re-do the Sontarans!" I mean, if youlook at the publicity shot of one of them with the helmet on - especially when viewed mostly from the front, and darn it, if that doesn't scream "Sontaran" I don't know what does. But, sadly, they are not new Sontarans with a bit of literal rhinoplasty. Frankly, they reminded me a bit more of the Vogons from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

It was also obvious why the Doctor would choose Martha as his new companion. She wasn't f----ered by clearly hearing his two hearts, she didn't lose her head when the hospital was scooped up to the Moon, nor when the aliens came, and she was willing to risk stepping out on the balcony, even though she didn't know if it might kill her. Though did they really have to "hang a lantern" on the fact she's not going to really replace Rose by actually having the Doctor SAY that to her? They also alluded to Rose when the Doctor grabbed Martha's hand and said "Run" (which, as you might recall, was the first thing the Doctor ever said to Rose).

So, anyway, good to see the Doctor back in action, and the previews for episode 2 look pretty good so maybe it was just a weak start.

After seeing the second episode of Series 3 (titled "The Shakespeare Code") I'm not too worried about a "weak" season for the new Doctor Who. I'm not going to post spoilers about it here, but I thought it was pretty good. If they hadn't had to establish how the Doctor and Martha meet in episode 1, this *should* have been the way to open Series 3 imo.

I actually thought this season's opener was better than last year's, but that is up to different folks perceptions. Martha is going to be a fantastic companion, I think. Five eps in, and I am loving her a lot. She reminds me a lot of Romana in some ways as she is definitely smart and can keep up with the Doctor. There have beena few things here and there I didn't like, but mostly I am thrileld with Series Three and think it just keeps getting better. Evolution of the Daleks was fantastic.

I don't recall any episodes last year that got bumped for other programming. I hope it's not a bad sign from the Beeb higher-ups regarding how much they value the show. This season "Gridlock" almost got bumped a week too for a sports event - had it gone into overtime (thankfully that didn't happen).

I'm not warming up to Martha yet. I mean, I DO get why the Doctor would surmise she "has what it takes" to adventure through time and space with him, but I just view Martha as being too serious, which wouldn't be all that bad except the Doctor is still sort of grieving his loss of Rose. Rose had such a sense of fun and wonder about the whole experience - frankly I hadn't seen the Doctor so happy in 900 years!

So far the "Shakespeare Code" is the only episode as a whole I've really liked. I liked Ardal O'Hanlon as the cat fellow in "Gridlock," but for the most part didn't like the rest of the episode (in part because of the absurdity of people sitting obediently in a traffic jam for 20 years).

I felt the Dalek two-parter wasn't all that great, and that had the Daleks killed the entire supporting cast it wouldn't have affected the story very much. I didn't think this story really had enough "meat" to be a two-parter, and probably would have been better served as a one-hour episode since they didn't bother to do much in the way of character development anyway. Compressing it would have also improved the pacing and made it a bit more exciting. I'm relieved we won't be seeing future Daleks as a lame "guy in a rubber mask." Daleks just shouldn't be able to wear two-tone shoes and pinstriped suits.

Don't worry about the Beeb. The ratings so far this year have been nothing short of phenomenal. I am not pistive they WilL bump DW next week yet, even though they have announced it already. With an average around 8 million viewers a week, I dont think they want to alienate that fan base. I am guessing this singing competition must get the kind of ratings that American Idol does here and that has them worried next week.

As for this year's episodes, nothing has been really stand out for me, except Shakespeare Code and Evoltuion of the Daleks. The first part, Daleks in Manhattan was okay, but I thought the Dalek/human hybrid looked like something out of a 50's comic, so that put a little damper on it. The second part, the story just sucked me in. Also, DT's doctor can be downright frightening when angry, and I am LOVING that. Still and all, I find that, for the most part, this season is on a par with last year, and I am happy.

Sci-Fi channel premiered season 3 last night. I'm glad they gave a little nod to Feema's Character in army of Ghosts/Doomsday. I have to agree that Smith & Jones was pretty Weak

Well this was the eppisode i was waiting for, And it came to the U S during Potter WeeK. It was more than just the mention of Book 7 or the tip to JK (in an interview she said she was sick of people asking where she gets her ideas from ) but the power of the word-the power of the Play(or movie) something that is obvious to most potter heads

I didn't miss last weeks Epp, but lets face it, it was just a set up for this weeks. I wished they had filmed in the U S, this was the second Epp set in the U S but not filmed here.

I am assuming you mean the message????? Naw, I don't want to spoil it for those who might not have seen it. But, do you know my brother guessed what the message would be months before we saw it?
