Just saw some Good FanFic on YouTube.com they had some home CGI that was just as good as the Remastered Trek

I caught "Miri" and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. I don't know what I was really expecting... I know I was hoping the new shots would closely match the later shows but they just look like sharpened versions of the original. Meh.

It appares that cbs & paramount wanted to Gorge Lucasfy the orignal series but not having seen any of it yet bacily means that I can't put a full opion on the board but bacily if they did to the orignal what they did to orignal (star wars) trilogy then hollywood is grasping for straws and they don't have anything new to put out.

I think Cooky37 is right; we're being squeezed for more quatloos (did anyone else ever notice everything on Triskellion comes in threes, except the quatloo?).
If you have nothing new, polish up something old and have a garage sale!

Sorry, but the finest in video game graphics was a wasted effort; the 40-year-old effects stand the test of time but the digital remastering was nice.
Star Trek is, after all, a story driven show not dependent on flashy arcade game imagery---anyone up for a round of Fizbin?

Is it just me, or have the ship fly-bys been slowed down so we can get a longer look at this bozo's handiwork?

Ooh, ooh look at me! Look what I made!

He made a fool of himself.
He hasn't done anything new, added anything special or unique---hell he hasn't even fed Vaal! He merely replaced someone else's creative, original hard work with his video-game crap.
Fan fiction tells an original story.
Fan art shows everyone a new image.
I'm going to skip this frelled up, duct tape redux in favor of the Saturday
Star Trek: Uncut Marathon on G4---now that's Trek as it was meant to be seen!

I have to agree with bear on this. I haven't upgraded to hi-def yet, maybe the redux is better that way. It's the same acting, the same costumes, and the same story. You don't realise how little FX are in a story till they point out and say "look at the FX"

I've noticed the difference with the better re-mastered picture, you see more detail and the colors stand out. Either you like the CGI upgrades or not, but in my opinion Star Trek hasn't looked this good on TV when it comes to picture and sound quality.

I'm all for digitally remastering the 40 year old filmed episodes.
They are classics and should be RESTORED, not screwed with and further edited.

Those goofy (gosh-darn mellonfarmers) cut one of Spock's best lines!

Spock (speaking to Cyrano Jones): Surely you realized what would happen when you moved the tribbles from their predator-filled environment, into an environment where their natural multiplicative proclivities would have no restraining factors?"

Jones's chuckle grinds to a halt before he asks, "What did you say?"

That's damn funny stuff!

Also, if you look out Mr. Lurie's window, you see what must be a D-7 the size of Spaceball-1, because it's 100 kilometers away!

ARGH!

A rerun?
They've had several weeks of damn reruns!
79 episodes, and they had to show us this nitwit's work more than once?
I've been waiting to see what that fathead made of "The Doomsday Machine", among others---but they went back for a few reruns?

To quote Dark Helmet, "Keep firing, a**holes!"

The latest news is we're getting a digitally remastered "Doomsday Machine", it will debut in syndication Feb. 10 (check your local listings). It features more than 100 all new digital visual effects shots, more than any other original episode.
