BSG has never shown humanity in it's best light. It shows humanity for what it really is, both the good and the bad. It is one of the reasons I think the show is so brilliant. The problem with much of older sci fi is that the lines are always too clearly drawn between white hats and black hats. BSG is finally bringing some realism to sci fi television by showing that, even in outser space, humans are still gonna be humans. Dark, gritty, and sometimes shocking, that is why BSG is considered the best drama on television by many critics and viewers and why it won a Peabody Award.

I personally was stunned by Friday night's episodes. More so than anything since Boomer shot Adama. Do I like what is happening with some of the characters? Not a bit of it. Did Ron Moore want you and me to react that way? Without a doubt. And I will be back next week, and the week after, and the week after to see what happens next. Brilliant.

You know I find myself wanting them to get off that rock already and to start searching for Earth. The premiere was good but there were scenes and phrases like "insurgents", and even a subplot that mimics the Nazis. I felt like I was getting a history lesson on past and current events. I think BSG is better than that and should stick to the scifi element, we already know the human race sucks, just don't keep reminding us in every episode.

Well I hate to say too much here since I don't know how many of you have seen it tonight, but it was one of the best damn episodes ever IMO. Adama's got balls o' solid rock, that's for sure. If you've seen it you know the move I'm talking about. Awesome!

I agree completely. Not only was it creative, but the visual was perfect. I'm loving this series, despite it's dark tone so far this year.

I have to admit, That Ep was FRAKKIN AWSOME!!!! can the show it in IMAX PLease. I guess I just didn't want to admit to myself how low some one can sink. but if you don't sink the you can't rise up again.
next weeks ep looks like it was lifted right out of post war Europe

I'm glad they didn't drag out the occupation storyline, and that the fleet will finally be searching for Earth. The battle space scenes in last night's episode were spectacular, just wish Pegasus wasn't a casualty. BSG is finally back on track.

Eh, I figured they wouldn't keep Pegasus forever. I'm actually a little surprised they've held on to her this long. But if a Battlestar has to go, that's sure'n as hell the way to do it! And besides, you almost knew that to pull this rescue off they'd have to sacrifice something major, and they couldn't very well destroy the ship the series is named for, could they?

So, now that Baltar is with the cylons, how long will it be till they have a scene where he is sitting alone on a pedestel in the middle of a big empty room? Personaly i say the start of the Nov 3rd Ep followed with Caprica 6 telling him not to get too comfortable

It was a good episode, but was anyone else gagging at the cheesyness between Apollo and Petty Officer Dualla (his wife)? I found that too much to take. At least they kept with the continuity (somewhat) of the Pegasus being destroyed and Baltar being with the Cylons. I almost stopped watching when it looked like the Galactica was going to blow up, but I'm glad I didn't.

I agree with you cooky, next weeks ep. does look like something from the Nuremburg war trials. I remember reading an interview with some of the writers and the director and they said that the beginning of the season would parellel Iraq and post-World War II Europe.

After just three eps, I have to admit that I think that those actors at Dragon Con did not lie to me. They have already stunned me with several things and I think they will just keep doing so. I am thinking this definitely could be the best season so far, and that is saying a hell of a lot. wow

Are they? You never know with these people. Friday's episode reminded me of the Nuremburg War Trials after WWII. And while it wasn't as dark as the beginning, it was still pretty gritty.

The original four hour miniseries pulled in a big fat audience, but that fell to about half with the series premiere. (You can find anything on the Internet, even the truth.)
NBG the series never had the ratings to hold a time slot on a real network---oh sure 1.8 million is a huge number, but when you started with over 4.5 million? The ratings continue to drop toward crush depth; the point where even a crappy little channel like Sci-Fi won't be able to pull in enough infomercial money to justify subsidizing the show, regardless of how cheap and dirty the production is.

Go on lying to yourself, or stick your fingers in your ears and hum, but the moment they get something to replace it this crap will become a footnote in the history of the most abused show in science fiction.
