After seeing the trailer for Silent Hill this might be the best videogame to movie adaptation ever. Don't get me wrong I liked Mortal Kombat, The Resident Evil films (Lets all forget about Mario Brothers and Street Fighter), but they never really captured the games. Silent Hill looks to be the exception. I'm already taking Friday off work to see it. |

I saw this friday and really enjoyed it. The visuals are stunning and you can tell the people behind the film really love the source material(the video games). There are some problems, some of the dialog is cheesy and the ending could have been better, but I can overlook all of this because of the sheer atmosphere and its horror images. The movie will still entertain you even if you don't know anything about the games. At the end of the day this is the best videogame to movie adaptation to date. |

I was unsure whether to see the movie because I've heard mixed things about it. I heard they kept the critics out until it opened because they expected bad reviews.
But I liked the trailer a lot. It looks exceptionally creepy. I never played the game, but I get the concept of it.
I'm going to go see the movie this week, since you recommend it, and I'll post after I see it. |

Like I said before the movie does have its problems and I think the average moviegoer will be confused by the story/ending. But if you're a fan of the games or you like horror/creepy atmosphere films, than you might enjoy Silent Hill. So far on other message boards I've read the reviews have been split evenly from negative to positive. |

This film is good, it's no classic but still it oozes loads of atmosphere. When it comes out on DVD i will watch it again. |

Not yet, but it is sitting at home to be watched right now. My bro bought it and loaned it to me and he loved it when he saw it in the theater.

I've seen it 2 more times on DVD and still enjoyed it. Although I had to explain the ending to a family member and a friend, which can be interpreted in other ways. They say there's one hour of footage cut from the movie, maybe will get a extended version DVD in the future.

I tried to watch this last week, but was really tired. I just couldn't maintain my interest in it. I am gonna give it another shot in the next week or so.
