Well at the Chicago Convention Jason Momoa said that they want to do three TV movies and Michael Shanks said that SG is going to continue in some form and that the Ori story line isn't going to be resolved this season.

Cliff and Gary basically said the same thing about the show being continued and the Ori storyline. I don't know about how much they are in the loop on the ongoing negotiations, though about the rest of it.

Neither am I concerning the other actors, but you have to remember they only know what the directors and producers tell them and what they hear around the set.

And that is just rumor, really. Having worked, briefly, on a television show, believe me, the working stiffs have very little clue as to what goes on higher up.

That is true. But I hope that another network picks the show up.
Look, I didn't hear any screaming or squishing sounds |

I will be happy if someone else picks up the show, but I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't go on. It has had an excellent run and, although I still think it is better than Atlantis, I would hate to see the show deteriorate by trying to extend it too long. I have seen that happen with too many of my favorite shows.

Next weekend I'll get to see the first fresh episode of Stargate: SG1 in syndication.
Apparently John and Aeryn are going to find the lost city (jeez, another one) of Avalon, and pick up a holy grail; I hope the French don't beat them to it.
(I fart in your general direction, you silly English Knnnnnnnnnnnnnnniggets!)

Oh it's so much more than that Ninja. "John and Aeryn" (as you call them) don't find the city, Daniel and "Aeryn" do and it's "John" who gets to sword fight with a knight.
(I love the Monty Python and the Holy Grail refrence btw )
Look, I didn't hear any screaming or squishing sounds |

Did it seem to anyone that it might have been easier
to find the way through the time field obstacle by
throwing clumps of dirt/sand rather than large rocks?
That way, you'd get an effect of "walls" rather than just
a general idea. Plus, what if the field was irregular -- and
had smaller "window"-like regions that a rock could get
through?
Although the fire/faith obstacle was interesting, given
the "bridge" scene right after, it might have bene nice to
have an "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" homage
moment where the faith involved the bridge.

Well it could have been better using sand, but it was cool seeing Sam throwing a rock in the air and it stop in its tracks, you have to take that up with the CGI guys. It was also establish that it was a maze, It would defeat the purpose of passing through if the field was narrow or irregular in some way.

I was thinking the same thing but I liked the fire/faith scene, I thought the whole episode was a homage to Last Crusade. On a side note I thought that was the worst looking CGI dragon ever.

with 200 episode under their belt MGM has made it's mark in the sci-fi spectrum but last I heard was that they are in the planing stages of a new Stargate series so Alantis is just the first spin off. You've got to remeber it's making money for MGM and Sony so their not going to let it die to easy.

SG:1 has had a good run, let it go before it starts to stink up the place. The regulars can pop up from time to time as "special guest appearances", writing or directing episodes of Atlantis or whatever spinoff come next.
This is a formula that has kept Trek alive for decades---but there is one thing.
Beau Bridges pissed me off with his first two lines of dialogue.
"cocky sons of B----es. Marines; never did like 'em."
Frell you, (many expletives)!
I love Marines in particular, and the military in general (pun intended); they don't understand phrases like "can't be done".
The main thing wrong with Stargate:SG1 has always been a severe lack of interservice participation. You need a dedicated strike force---if not Marines, then Delta Force---to handle some engagements and off world security issues.
Daedalus and her sister are SHIPS; there should be a naval officer in command of a navy crew (a former aircraft carrier or better still, a submarine commander; sub drivers are used to thinking in three dimensions.)

Anyone know if there are model kits of any ships from either Stargate series?
I'd like to start by building the Daedalus.
