This is mighty tough...
The Fifth Element
Total Recall
Logan's Run
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Star Wars 4 & 5
Blade Runner
Terminator 1,2,3
Alieliens, Predator and AvP (not the ones in between )
Star Trek 2,4,6
Back to the Future 1,2,3
Not saying I actually like all of these now, but I think over the years they are the ones that had the greatest impact on my love of sci-fi. I also tried to stay out of "fantasy" stuff which i really love (LotR...)
cheers |

Why thank you, you damn dirty ape!
I want to through "A scanner darkly" on the list just because the rotoscope work is gorgeous and its a great story but I won't be seeing it for a bit. I'm surprised people don't seem to be talking about it here at all. |

What about Buckaroo?
I won't list 10 movies (because I don't think
it would stop at 10), but definitely high up there
would be "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across
the 8th Dimension."
I loved it when Mitchell referred to Buckaroo on
Stargate SG1 this past season. |

jamie77 wrote: Buckaroo? Hah! Um, but I put Flash Gordon so I suppose people in glass houses and all that. But Peter Weller? Robocop? And I can't believe i left out the Spider-man movies. I think you might be onto something there Iswallowedabug in not listing.
Buckaroo rocks! The movie not only mocked itself constantly, but it
successfully mocked and celebrated what I love about the comic
book, superhero, science fiction, and romance genres (and more).
And Peter Weller has done some really good work.
Here's another overlooked classic -- "Repo Man." (with Emilio
Estevez). Great movie, great soundtrack.
I can't handle number theory; there are more than 10 items on all
of my top 10 lists. (sigh) |

Now I know how that Looney-Tunes cartoon chameleon felt when asked to blend into a plaid background; he broke down and sobbed, "I can't do it, I just can't do it!" |
