| Hi all. As a new member and, a first time poster, please dont think I`m moaning. Whats up with the chat room? I am wondering if I have a log in problem or is it taking ages to get upgraded? Hopefully meet you all in chat soon |

Welcome to Trek Passions!
Here's an update. We're moving to new servers, and we have taken chat offline while we go through this process. We thought it would be finished by now, but as is the case when technology is involved, it's taking longer than anticipated.
We are hoping to be finished by the middle of next week.
Once we're on the new servers, we are looking at implementing a brand new chat system that should thrill everyone here.
So, please be patient for the next couple of weeks as we make these changes, and we think you'll be very pleased with the increase in speed on the site...and the new chat system.

I may well be wrong here but, assuming a geographical time difference of, at least 6 hours, 8pm is about 2am for me. As I sit here now it is 12:30am and I`m beginning to sag! Will look in (briefly) to chat room just in case. Will attempt to look in about 11pm (5pm for you) Hopefully some people will match up eventually!

Another update for everyone.
We are working on how to initialize audio chat and video chat into the chat system, and hopefully it will be active within the next 2 weeks.
Separately, we hope to be able to add a free video profile option soon, where people will be able to add a 30 second video introduction of themselves to their profile.

| The video file would be a cool feature. As for the chat tonight I have a guest coming over to watch the Stargate season premiere. |

| I popped into that chat room one day to look around and its cool and all, but what is with the choice of profile pics? It took one of my old photos from 2000 and stuck it up on my profile for the chat room. Shouldn't it be my main photo the current one? |

Oops...
Another member brought this to our attention in the past week too. It appears the system is displaying the wrong photo from member accounts. We are going to look at the code in the next few days to try to determine what is happening, and how best to fix it.
