'' My name is Peter Parker and I have been Spiderman since i was fifteen years old. Any Questions?''
Any thoughts on Spider-man revealing his secret idendity to the world as part of the Marvel civil war storyline. Spider-Man comics will never be the same. |

OK. I think peter is past the point of needing the freedom the mask provides. But his revealing his true identity endangers Aunt May And Mary Jane. Good Grief, Aunt May just recently found out about peter/spidey. I don't think there is enough Zantak in NYC to help her thru what is coming. Also, Peter doesn't have the money like Stark or the Richards. He can't afford the protection they can. Will the Super heros have to get liabilty innsurance? |

OMG! They can't do that! ..hmm actually that might make for some interesting maybe darker storylines. He won't be able to walk down a street in peace, his life will be turned inside out by the sheer pressure the world will then put on him. He will be expected to help *everyone* and people won't understand that he is just a man and he can't save everyone and people will turn on him, hate him, some will love and appreciate him but we all know how greedy and self serving the general populace is. I think this will be interesting enough to maybe get me actually reading comics! |

The decision to unmask is already impacting Peter's life ina big way and it can only get tougher. It is definitely time to start keeping up with the Spidey titles to see what happens next.

Still undecided whether this is a good thing or not. I suppose there are ways of putting the genie back in the bottle as Ed Brubaker seems to have done with the end of the prison storyline in Daredevil which seems to provide grounds for New York not to believe that Matt Murdock is Daredevil. |

I haven't seen that Daredevil storyline. I know a little bit about it from Civil War, but not much. Nice to know that Danny Rand is still alive and, ummmm...kicking!

I do wonder whether ultimately we will see Spiderman on the other side of the Superhero schisim as the character is at his best when he is the put upon everyman superhero who goes out to save the day and comes home to find the latest final demand and no thank yous.
