I really do like them all, but I gots to go with the one that started it all.

On the other hand, if I have to throw one out of the lifeboat, it would be Enterprise; they've bolixed up enough Starfleet and Federation history, and should not be permitted to do more damage---did the writers ever see what they were prequeling?

The "dark mirror" Enterprise has much better theme music that that sappy thing they used all four seasons---sounded like a church hymn to me. You' ve got to be in the mood for a thing like that, and it was not suited to an action adventure program.

Hi All

I think definately TNG is the best allrounder with some pure quality episodes and an Awesome Captain. However DS9 from sesson 4 onwards was just mind blowing! Bringing the Klingons in was class and the Series as a whole got a huge kick up the backside. I would have to say DS9 runs a very, very close second!! But TNG just pips it to the line!! Have fun all Very Happy

The Naked time was a powerful episode for me, for more reasons than I knew at the time.

Spock's predicament---a man of two worlds, not really home in either, blessed and cursed with powerful emotions---is something many bipolar patients have come to see as an example of what they go through all day, every day.

Nimoy's performance broke ground for such plot lines as John Crichton's running argument with "Harvey"; that's what schizophrenia (sic) looks like from the inside..[/i]

It's been a long road,
getting from there to here
I'm kind of thirsty,
and I think I'd like a beer,
and if i can get some chips to go with that
and a sandwich too,
no I don't want to go to Mickey-D's
and I don't want Burger King,
'cuz I've got food, in the fridge
gonna make myself a sandwich,
I've got fresh, chipped ham,
and I can make one for you
'cuz I've got red, ripe tomato,
got some crisp iceberg lettuce
there's some cheese, if you want,
'cuz I've got
(I've got, I've got, I've got)
I've got food,
food in the friiiiiiyyiiidge....

i voted ORIGINAL just because the Kirk/Spock/McCoy triumvirate is so good. DS9 a close second tho, fantastic for being the only trek show with; characters not constantly brown-nosing the captian, non-starfleet characters, people filling time as ther is no 'mission'.

You know....of all the questions that could be asked about Star Trek, this is probably the great debate.

Now, I must say that I have enjoyed every Star Trek series. Yes, even Enterprise. Now let me also say that I have enjoyed some more than others. Enterprise probably being lower on the totem pole of enjoyment.

Now to the question at hand...Let me just say up front that TNG is my favorite.

I would have to say that probably the biggest reason that it is my favorite is because as I was growing up it was the first one that I saw in its original release. I was not old enough to watch TOS during its original run on NBC. But i can remember being 16 years old and sitting in my living room watching the opening shot coming up on the Enterprise-D and being so awestruck. When they did the first ever saucer separation....my jaw dropped. From that point on I was hooked.

Okay, I am the only major fan of Voyager. That is okay! Here are the reasons that I love it. The character development throughout the series is amazing. You can connect to every character that is on the show in some way, large or small. I also think that it touches into the characters emotions (well except Tuvok) of their every day struggle to keep going. This is important, when you are lost on the other side of the galaxy and don’t know if you will make it home, which makes your day to day life really hard to handle. Then there is the captain, how many captains were there that can insult and entire race by putting her hands on her hips?

Well the best Trek is TNG. Actually not by much ahead of TOS. These are the two series the reflect Gene Roddenberrys vision. In TOS he did manage to get alot over the network execs heads. In TNG he was able to do everything he really wanted in the original series. It was more purely dramatic than TOS. It also had an ensemble cast where all the characters got developed instead of just Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Not being critical of TOS understand as it is flat out great anyway. As for DS9 it was quite the series but not really reflective of Roddenberrys vision. Still great writing and acting.

I tried not to get too into Voyager; I didn't want to be diggin' it if they got cancelled without getting back to Earth.
I could go for some Voyager now, though; I've overindulged on the other Treks.

I like different aspects of each of the serise so I voted for them all.
TOS really touched on some touchy issues back in the day.
TNG has amazing actors and characters.
DS9 had some of the best episodes of all time. "Far Beyond the Stars" 'nuff said.
VOY was pure entertainment. You could just sit and watch and enjoy your hour.
ENT had the most 'human' characters.

Straight Niner, baby!

Don't get me wrong, I loved all the series (but not so much Enterprise), but DS9 really spoke to me. Because they were on a station and couldn't go any where, they had to stay a deal with the persistant problems instead of zipping off to the next ones. In fact, it shows how when you're a problem solver, the problems will come to you to get solved.

DS9 could handle story arcs so much better, to the point where it was the focal point of massive ST universe events.

Captian Sisko is my favorite Captain hands down. Smooth and cool most of the time, but fierce when he wants to be. Tactfully juggling his roles as a Starfleet Officer and messiah of a religion.

Nine, baby!

It was a tossup between Voyager, TNG and Enterprise, but Voyager came out ahead, although I admit the final episode was a bit disappointing, or rather the final five minutes.

Now, if this was a science fiction movie, this is the part where the brilliant boy genius that everybody has been ignoring up to this point, pipes up and tells the balding Captain that by cross linking the Warp Core, the Impulse engine and a reverse framistat, then dividing the warp field lattice by the square root of last Tuesday, he can get them all home.
