I normally despise politics but with two new news stories I think the US is headed into becoming a Dictatorship or an Empire with the way Bush is acting. Fist modifying the Emergency powers act to allow him to use the military to suppress any uprising in the US now in this news story (removed) he says his people can search any US mail with out a warrant. And no in this news story [url](removed)] they have stopped testing of the electronic voting systems.
dose anyone else see this or am I going luney?

Don't Worry, theres only 724 days left of his term. If only the Dems put forward a good candidate in 2004. Personaly I thought General Wesley Clark would have been a good choice. but the pretty boys and big mouths forced him out. I don't think he even made it to super tuesday.
the real question is, if the Dems get the White house in 08' will they give up the intrusive powers that Bush pushed through or will they spin them to their advantage :
Will someone shut that man up

Personally I think we need to get someone into office that will use the Constitution as his backbone. I like the line from Robin Williams new movie "Why are polititions like dirty diapers? There both full of S%^T and need to be changed often." Most of the polititions of both sides say one thing and do another. We need someone or a lot of someones in all offices that will both Talk the talk and Walk the walk. Teh people in office have all forgotten that they work for us not the other way around.

"Politicians are like diapers. They need to be changed often and for the same reason."
Robin Williams is right---and there's a reason some statements survive to become cliche. They're true, and always will be.
Anyone can get elected, but I don't understand how some incumbents get re-elected and Bush is a good example. Keep in mind he and his entire party protested Star Wars Episode III because they thought it was about them.
Power corrupts---remember Hitler won a free, open and fair election.
The only way to prevent the same thing from happening---and it can happen anywhere---is to stop them before they scare the electorate into going along.
For those of you who "despise politics" and "don't want to get involved", I've got another cliche:
"All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
Now go renew your voter registration, find your local polling station, stop daydreaming about superpowers and be a true hero.

Amen Brothers. But lets not forget that Politics is not a beuty pagent. Don't just acept what the media says. While I thought Clark was a good choice I wouldn't Have minded someone with passion (for the job not the ladies).
so, right now I've heard 4 names so far
Edwards: has thown his hat in the ring with his 2 Americas platform
Rodham: don't call her President Clinton
Obahma: Just another pretty face but potential
And
Guilanni: the only Republican so far
Gore & Kerry haven't been commited to the fight yet either
If Chenney Runs...
See you all in Canada
