Shows that cross the pond (sci fi +)

OK the United States or US is rather Xenophobic but there are a few Brittish shows that make it over. and Some of our shows are understood beyond our borders. What are some of your favorite Foriegn TV shows
Sc Fi/ Fantasy, comedy or what ever.

Well pretty much every show over here is american... but i am enjoying Little Britain... its hilarious.

Okay Steph, first off I resent the term "xenophobic"---besides, I think you might mean Anglophobic, which doesn't apply to me either. Like any well bred bear, I forage through whatever's available---which brings me to my point.
If anyone reading this has U.F.O. volume #3, you just cost Netflix a customer---well, it's really all on Netflix.
U.F.O. is a British sci-fi show from 1970 (although the credits say MCMLXIX) that I love to this day (silver miniskirts and metallic purple wigs; I had a crush on Lt. Ellis, bigtime).
I sent back Volume 2, but Netflix says #3 is 'out'---whatvever happened to customer service? If you don't have the next one, send something, anything from my queue, but something!
I'm proud of my customer service, and my 24hr order turnaround---too much to list here to be sure, but my customers are special!
Well, back to Blockbuster---after my mates and I enjoy Monty Python and the Holy Grail tomorrow night.

I liked Starcops as well, although I missed episode two; now PBS isn't showing it. Red Dwarf, Blake's 7, Space:1999, just to name a few; but I get a lot of my best stuff from across the other, bigger pond.
Show of hands, who else has Minmeii music videos? Oh sure, they're in Japanese but sung so beautifully, it makes me feel strange inside...

fyi: Monty Python's Flying Circus is arguably the greatest British comedy of all time; their theme song is "The Liberty Bell March", composed by John Phillip Sousa, leader of the United States Marine Corps Band.

Sometimes I go on a Dr. Who binge and just sit around and watch it for hours. I don't know if it's healthy or not.

When I was living in England I liked Footballer's Wives and Bad Girls. The Queen's Sister is really good too, even though none of the aforementioned are sci-fi.

You lived in England? I am so jealous!!!! It is my dream, when I get married eventually, to go to Irleand, Scotland, and England on my honeymoon. I am such an Anglophile!

But, getting back to the topic at hand, I am a Doctor Who fanantic myself. I am currently trying to get my hands on every episode of Doctor Who that still exists and find reconstructions of the ones that don't. If the BBC would get a little faster in releasing the DVDs, I would be much happier. These things are not easy to find otherwise.

I have also enjoyed a plethora of shows from the UK, both sci fi and non sci fi. Monty Python, The Goodies, Rising Damp, Fawlty Towers, The Young Ones, Are You Being Served, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, and Benny Hill are the comedies I can think of off the top of my head. Green Wing was brilliant and I am so happy they have finally done a second season. Can't wait for it to make it here. As for sci fi, and sci fi related, there's Blake's Seven, Hitchhikers Guide, Tripods, and The Tomorrow People. Of course, I am thoroughly enjoying Torchwood now, too. Hex is also good. There was also another horror/supernatural series that aired not too long ago that I can;t think of the name of that I would like to see more of. As for dramas, how could you not love Robin Of Sherwood? Absolutely incredible television that breathed new life into an old story.

Okay, I'll stop now.

I have only seena few eps of Hex. I want to see the whole series.
