We got Spock back, had a romp through the past---complete with "colorful metaphors"---saved Earth yet again, and yet another swing around spacedock to see the most beautiful ship of them all: the Enterprise-A.
On the other hand...
After so many years without Trek; I sat in the dark with my large popcorn and smiled as Admiral Kirk complained about the Enterprise transporters not working. Instead Scotty took him in a travel pod, on a slow fly-around of that magnificent, redesigned ship...(sniffle).
Kirk was right when he told Alice the android, "She's a beautiful lady and we love her." |

`Voyage Home was sweet but the best structured film was probably Wrath of Khan.

`While Voyage Home is a great movie, it's not really everything that Star Trek's about. That's why I gp for Wrath of Khan every time. Space battles, a clear villan from the series, a new Federation ship (I love the Reliant. Have a model of it, actually), ethical conflicts, personal conflicts, mooral questions... what's not to like?
