I have no idea who Ethan is; but I believe I know at least one of the reasons I can't stand Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
Ever notice everyone's pretty, but they go ugly when they show themselves to be vampires?
Truth is evil is often much more beautiful and seductive---but thanks for playing into the stereotypes, Mr. Wheadon...pinhead.

I don't think it was that simple, really. I think Joss was showing us more to NOT judge a book by it's cover as evil often DOES hide behind beauty. If they were ugly all the time, then they wouldn't be seductive in the first place. For instance, when Buffy first met Angel, she was attracted to him physically. When she found out he was a vampire she freaked. It was only as she learned to go beyond his appearance that they were able to attain a deeper relationship. That is just the way I saw it.

Yeah Fringey, but I still think baring fangs would have been enough; the cheesy morphing effect was a waste of time and money, done simply for shock value.
I liked Forever Knight better---especially when Rick Springfield played the character.
