I am SOOOO looking forward to seeing Mr. Ego himself get taken down a peg or two. I do love Shatner, but the man has an ego the size of Texas. Laughing

Did I miss something? I know Kevin Pollick was on the panel, but I never saw anything from him. Did he do anything? Also, how much of the roast was edited? I only saw a bit with Miss Nicoles and Fred Willard.

My review of this roast:

What The F**K are they doing bringing in Ferrah, the fat gay from Howard Stern, Betty White, and Fred Willard? These people are not funny and only served as cannon fodder for the other roasters. And poor jokes were made about them. I'm sure they could have gotten more interesting people to come on.

The Top Ten Highlights of the show:

10. Betty White's old fashion way of joking.
9. Miss Nicoles' telling Shatner to "Kiss... my black *ss."
8. Shatner's singing. (Yes... it's funny)
7. Andy d*ck's Trek Love Child bit.
6. Lisa (the fat woman who screws horses and black men). Despite her vulgarity, she was funny.
5. The little bit with Ben Stiller was good.
4. The Opening with Shatner and Nimoy.
3. Seeing Nicole DeBore in the audience (Personal fav of mine)
2. George Takei's slams on Shatner. Nothing was held back and the ending of the bit was simply wonderful. I couldn't imagine it coming from anyone else.
1. Shatner himself. He's speech was great and he showed he could take it. Clap for the old fart everyone!

It was edited strangely. Kevin Pollack was in there briefly, and, as
you point out, Nichols and Willard's roasts were only partially aired.

How can you say Betty White is not funny and then list her
as one of the top ten things? I thought her speech was the best
thing about the show. I'm still laughing over it. And she is on a
show with Shatner, which gives her more of a connection
than some of the others.

I didn't really like that bit, but I was highly amused to see him
go around and lick everyone -- especially Carrie Fisher, who
licked back!

Betty's bit was classy, but for me, not really that funny. Hence the reason she made the top ten. But you'll notice I put her at ten, which is the least of the best.

Was this a roast for Shatner or Takei ?
At least when most of the panel was poked fun at they laughed and enjoyed it. I am sick of Andy d*ck

It's the first time I've ever actually seen Mr. D*ck. However, I am not really interested in seeing anymore of him either.

Did you never watch the sitcom "Newsradio"? He was quite good
in that, and not at all like what I'm assuming you might find
distasteful.

I'm wondering if they will put this on DVD or Tape uncensored. I'd buy that.

Nope... never watched Newsradio. Just wasn't interested in it.

My buddies saved this...program so we could see it; I bear them no grudge because they did not know better and meant no harm.
Never been a fan of the "roast" concept; insulting someone is not funny. Watching someone mocked by his inferiors was excruciating (and people wonder why SETI has had no results).
Though it had its moments---Takei, Nichols, Pollack, White---there are shows I've enjoyed or would have preferred to use the time on, such as:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer's musical tribute to Plan Nine from Outer Space,
watching paint dry,
MacBeth, performed by the cast of Hee-Haw, or
adding a laugh track to the film I Spit on Your Grave.

I thought it was raucously funny. Best roast they've done in years. I agree some of the roasters made little sense, and they're the ones Comedy Central keeps bringing back just as fillers (I think they have some kind of contract) but overall it was great. I'm hoping for the full, unedited version on DVD, and if CC follows their usual procedure it should be out in a couple of months. I, too, am very, very tired of Andy D*ck. It's pretty safe to say his cocaine abuse has pretty much destroyed his brain, to the point he has little or no impulse control. I don't think he was acting or doing some kind of bit when he was licking people. He's just gone completely whacko.

Who were those people? Why were they there? I can only go with an opinion expressed earlier, that they were there under contract, and to fill space and time.
Why was Carrie Fisher in the audience, and not on stage? Better still, why was Adrien Zmed not up there? At least they would have been intelligent and entertaining---and Zmed knows the guy!

Anything with any of those piss-poor "comedians"---especially Andy d*ck---is an automatic channel change. I've watched paint dry and it was far more entertaining than 90% of this "roast"---anyone up for a game of fizbin?
