Has anyone seen the show 'Ghost Hunters' on Sci-fi? It's about the group TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society). They go to different places that have paranormal goings-on and try to debunk them. Sometime they can and sometimes they can't. I like the show because they go into it trying to disprove what happens at the places and rarely use the word "haunted". When they do, it's because they've had personal experences in that place and have caught stuff on video and audio that back the personal stuff up. My fav. episode would have to be in the first season when they visit an armory in Mass. and one of the tech. guys, Frank, got hit by his sound box square in the face. Both of his hands were in the air at the time holding a boom mike and they caught it on tape. Is it real? I don't know. There are somethings that have happened to me that I can't explain, but I'm still somewhat of a skeptic.

I live right down the street from TAPs. Well, less than a mile.
When the show first started They would make Personal appearance at Holloween speacials and Charity events. I wanted them to visit My church but the ghost there has bee doment for years (see the Book "Weird New England" St Mary's Crompton) I see the Truck once in a while. Had A scare last year when a "for lease" sign showed up on the building. Don't Worry they Just have an open lease, and I hear they still have the the Trailer

I just met Jason, Grant, Brian, and Steve at Dragon Con last weekend. Hands down, they had the best panels I have seen in years. That epsiode in the Armory you mention was talked about in both panels I attended. Frank was truly terrified by that and, when they went back to do some pick up shots, he wouldn't let anyone be more than 5 feet from him. He went on to do other shows and will do nothing that has to do with the paranormal again.

I stayed about two blocks from the main con hotel and the Ghost Hunters bunch was in the same hotel, so I ran into them several times. Well, everyone but Steve. Great, down to earth guys who were a little overwhelmed by how many people attended their panels. Brian is a horror fan and has his own magazine out called Scars for anyone interested. And, yes, you can now buy a "Dude, Run" merchandise from the TAPS website. Brian also has a shirt with his pic on it thats says "Dude, what was that?"

I told Grant that we had devised a drinking game for watchign Ghost Hunters. Everytime he explains, EVP, take a shot. Everytime he explains orbs, take a shot, or everytime Brain says "Dude, what was that?", take a shot. You will get a mild buzz as these are always in every episode.

Jason also said he liked my haircut, so we said he is now an offical member of the Brotherhood of the Blade.

They said the third season is gonna be the best yet. They just got back from doing a lot of investigations in Ireland and they have some great stuff, according to them. I can't wait. If anything is more creepy than that prison in Pennsylvania or the lighthouse in St. Augustine, all I can says is "shudder".

They didn't mention whether they brought their families or not. They did mention that doing the show takes them from their families a lot and that makes it difficult.

You have to wonder if their famlies are into the paranormal as well.

I envy you fringey; you got to meet TAPS. I would think that Frank wouldn't want to do any more paranormal stuff after what happened to him, that would have freaked me out as well. And I'll have to try the Ghost Hunters "drinking game".

I think that through GH people are becoming more and more interested about the paranormal and it's showing them that it's not like "Exorcisist" in any respect.

You may get a chance to meet them. They have just really started doing conventions and Dragon Con was their biggest so far. Grant told me that they have been asked back next year and they plan to make it. Look for them at conventions in your area.

The reason I love the show is that they are scientific about it. If you do get a chance to meet them, ask them what they think about "most Haunted".

I like them cause they are local boys. I've seen the taps truck on the road once and a while. I recognise some of the establishing scenes.

That reminds me that they said they have actually had people who break their toilets on prupose just to get to meet them! They also said Roto Rooter is constantly getting calls from people wanting a job with them quoting their experience in ghost hunting, not plumbing.

Ah the hazards of being on TV. I bet that they're glad that RR is cool about the whole 'ghost hunting' thing.

I am sure they are thrilled with the free publicity.
