You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion. You seem to take offense to my praising the show and decrying the fans who don't like it because it isn't the old series. You say that isn't why you don't like it and that is fine. In that case, why should you be offended? I referred over and over again to the fans who don't like it because it isn't TOS, not to fans who dislike it for other reasons. As to the quality, I honestly don't see where you come by your opinions, especially when even the critics think it is one of the best shows on television, and the critics HATE sci fi, but I am not gonna argue about it. Different strokes for different folks.

Babylon 5 is still my top show, but in tier two, three way tie between new BSG, Farscape and Firefly. |

Actually, that's not the case:

This statement, at least to my reading, is telling me that if I enjoy
quality, I must have room in my heart for not only the old BSG but
the new one.
It offends me to be told what I should or shouldn't think, what I should
or shouldn't feel.
As I read the rest of your other post, I interpreted other comments
of yours to suggest that the only reason someone wouldn't like the
new BSG is if they were clinging to the old and the new one is
different. If I inferred rather than your implying it, I take
responsibility for that misreading. But I think the above statement
I have re-quoted is pretty clear -- it leaves no room for someone
who thinks the new BSG is low in quality.

Right back at you. I honestly don't see why people like this show.
I have tried so hard, and I'm finally giving up. I guess I just don't
enjoy soap operas with recycled plot devices if they can't put a
new spin on it. |

It would have Been great to see Richard Hatche's vission of the BSG, but the new BSG has taken away the chance to see it.
i think they just piggy back a hard edged story on an exsisting genre. it realy didn't need to do that we could have had 2 good show insread of one |

I can't help what you "infer" rather than what I say. But, even the statement that you say is somehow making you to not enjoy BSG because you don't like quality is referring to those fans who won't make room in their heart for BSG because it isn't like the old series. I thought that was pretty clear but, if it wasn't, I apologize.

I have also officially lost what little respect I had for Kevin Smith (Dogma was great but anyone can get lucky once) for recommending NBG season 2.5 as the best show on television...be silent, Bob!
Okay first off, the best show on television is House, m.d. but has been taken from us in favor of baseball---BASEBALL!
Second, when I saw Richard Hatch in the clip from NBG, I thought at first I was looking at an old episode of the cop drama The Streets of San Francisco, not a sci-fi show; the uh, "costume" threw me off. (Halfway across the galaxy, where did they find a Men's Wearhouse?)
Sets, props, costumes and CGI are all substandard (apparently in the future, they no longer have the steadycam).
The cast is no more than a few has-beens and an entire Acting-101 class from the local Learning Annex, but the scripts they've been given? I wrote better stories when I was twelve!
So yes, to answer the age old question, if given the chance I know I can do better!

So Bulls**t Galacticrud can be downloaded from the marvelous Interweb?
Thank you, Al Gore!
(lol)
Okay maybe I'll skip lunch, pop some Tylenol, grab a barf bag and check it out...nah.
Last time I checked, the commercials were more compelling than the program.
