Ten years is a good run. Only continue IF you've got good stories.

However, they are shopping SG-1 around. Be interesting to see how this turns out.

And Atlantis goes on...

Come on, The writing was on the wall from when RDA left. the fact it lasted two more years says alot. several of the latest eppisodes were mainly-exchange G-aulde for Ori-

run it on USA, G-4, or SPIKE for a while see how it goes

Hey! What's wrong with SG1 now? The fact that RDA left has nothing to do with it, he wanted to spend more time with his daughter. The show has proven that it can go on without "MacGyver" and (I think) has gotten better with the Ori and the addition of Vala.

Totally agree on Vala. I think the girl has life left in her yet. The show, not Vala. Vala clearly has PLENTY.

Do you think that Ben Browder will have time to pen an episode before
it ends?

I suppose not, what with so few shows remaining.

I thought "Green-eyed Monster" which was one of two
episodes he wrote for Farscape was one of the best (and
certainly one of my favorites).

I'd love to see him take a stab at writing for SG1.

The petitions didn't even take 24 hours to appear. Personally, I agree with the decision to go out while it is still good rather than letting it run down into a parody of itself a few years down the road. 10 years is a long run for ANY show and I am sure the actors are looking forward to being able to do other outside projects. Let the show go out with some dignity, I say.

Do you think that maybe the bit at the very end of the 200th
episode where they're on set 10 years into Wormhole Extreme, and
the call comes about "the movie's back on" is a hint at the
future of SG1 in light of the "cancellation" and Robert Cooper's
comments that "SG-1 will go on in some way. We're just not ready to
announce how"?

Yes, yes, I know, denial is one of the stages of grief....

I actually recently saw an article on Scifi.com that Roland Emmerich is planning two more Stargate movies, but they will be based on the original flim. Also, I read that MGM is shopping SG-1 other markets, so it ain't over yet.

You both are somewhat right. Devlin wants to do two (or three) more SG movies and Spader and Russell are open to coming back as Jack and Daniel. At the convention this past weekend Jason Momoa said that they were planning three TV movies and Michael Shanks said that they're going to continue the francise in some way. I took the end of '200' where they got the call abou the movie being back on as a refrence to the stories at the time when Devlin said that he and MGM were talking about more SG movies.

The discussions are still in the works according to Gary Jones and Cliff Simon, so nothing has been settled yet, but they seem to feel that MGM will find a buyer and continue the series as opposed to TV movies. TV movies are an option they will go for if they can't find a buyer, in their opinion. At least that was the way I understood it.
