my work place may be going union and i'm not sure where I stand on it
any one want to put thier 2 cents in?

Unions are supposed to be a way for all employees to join in collective bargaining agreements, to be certain all are treated fairly.

Sounds good in theory, and there was a time when unionizing was a good thing but lately, most unions are top heavy with suits who pay themselves fat salaries and do little for the rank & file.
That said, when the greedy corporate weasels locked the steelworkers out of the mills, the union saw to it there was food on our table. No child should know the taste of powdered milk, but it was better than starving while the fatcats at U.S. Steel strong-armed the people who do the real work---and that was the 1970s.
Don't get me started on the Homestead Riots.

I've had a pocket knife of one type or another since I was a Cub Scout, but they all had one thing in common.
They were all made by the Camillus Cutlery Company, makers of the official CSA & BSA pocket knives.
In 1942 or so, the company began making a solid stainless steel, mil-spec version of the scout knife, which is the type I use to this day.
These are what I consider "the ultimate MacGyver tool"; rugged, dependable, nearly indestructable---mine's over 20 years old and still serves me well.

In 2006 the company endured a long and costly strike by the USWA---same union as my dad, different local.
On February 28, 2007, Camillus Cutlery closed it's doors and filed for bankruptcy.
A 130-year-old company with an excellent product line, run out of business by a strike.
I don't know what the USWA local thought they'd win; all I know is I'm honked off.
