Will Watson Leave Potter?
Is she in or out? Emma Watson, who has played Hermione Granger in the first five Harry Potter movies, may bow out of the sixth, according to a report on the DigitalSpy.co.uk Web site.
Watson has hinted that she may not take part in the final two Harry Potter movies. The 16-year-old is currently filming the fifth film in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but has admitted that the time involved may lead to her having to forgo the final parts.
The actress, who recently aced her early exams, will turn 20 before the seventh film is completed and may not make the commitment to see the franchise through, the site reported. (Watson's co-stars Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, and Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, have indicated they're in for the long haul.)
"I don't know yet," she said. "Every film is so huge, and it's a long time. I love to perform, but there are many other things I love doing." Order of the Phoenix debuts next July.

I am hoping this is just a way of her renogtiating for more money. I can't imagine having a different Hermione for the last two films. I mean, they HAD to have a new Dumbledore, but I think Potter fans might crucify Emma if she bows out.

Not only Watson, Alot of "regulars were not signed for HBP.
Mrs. Weasly, Prof Sprout, and Mr Dursley actors have not been aproached to apear in the last 2 movies.
Gint and Radcliffe have already expanded to movies beyond potter.
The only work Watson seems to be is potter, although she was once rumoured to be the next Pink Power Ranger.
Also in that interview, Emma complains she doesn't have a boyfriend. maybe she is just reorganizing her prioraties
Rowlings has not even finnished the last book yet lets wait and see

Well, they're suppose to be growing up while in school are they not? I don't see why she can't stay in as the character. Yeah, she's "developed" a bit more, but then again, I've seen 13 year olds that look like they are 18! It's all that McDonalds food I tell you!

Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe are both on for the long haul, although not signed yet. If I was the producer of the films, I would just give them contracts that include all the movies so they will be in it. Frankly, it is only two films and that would be two more years, tops, for the kids to deal with. I think Miss Watson is just scheming for more bucks. And as much as these movies make, I really can't blame here for wanting a bigger piece of the pie. She, and the rest of them, could probably make enough off the last two films to retire for the rest of their lives if they have savvy negotiators. If Tom Curise can get 30 million per picture, and his films don't gross near as much as the Potter films, then I can see giving these kids more money for giving up so much of their teenage years.
