I definitely would NOT agree. The Matrix should be much lower in the list, and Firefly should be higher. BSG should be number one, Heroes & Doctor Who should be in the top 10, and where the Frak is Babylon 5 in this list??? But, other than that, no quibbles.

I also think Starship Troopers should be dropped. Not great sci fi (as a movie. The novel is awesome) but nothing but a fun popcorn movie.

I actualy preffered the animated series of StarShip Troopers to either of the two trooper movies. They could have included it they did do the clone Wars series

I wouldn't have considered the animated series great sci fi either. I dunno if there has been a great sci fi animated series yet. I would ahve to think about that one.

Apperantly we weren't the only ones upset with EW's list. They recieved so many E-mails they had to print a top 10 list of what they missed
here it is
(1) STARGATE : MOVIE AND SG1
(2) FARSCAPE
(3) BABYLON 5
(4) THE FIFTH ELEMENT
(5) BUFFY THE vAMPIRE SLAYER
(6) GATTICA
(7) DARK CITY
(8 ) DUNE: ORIGIONAL MOVIE
(9) INDEPENDENCE DAY
(10) 12 MONKEYS
EW did give reasons why they exclude theese program but I want to hear what you all say first
Fringey you asked about B5. The Editor didn't like the 5 year story arc. But Lost is looking at a 6 year story arc. true by the end it propably only be a 6 month period

I would probably not have included Buffy, even though it is one of my favorite shows, because it is not Sci Fi. As to the editor not liking Bab 5's five year storyline, that was part of the genius of the show!!!! There were obliue refences made in Season One that became in important in year 4, etc! THAT'S some major writing. That show had my jaw dropping on more than one occasion from the brilliance of the writing.

That's the very reason EW gave! If you Wanted to push it you could point to season 4 with the Cyborg Demons or season 6 with the evil geek overlords, but those aren't exactly the best seasons in my opinion.
Also if you open it up that way you can include
Forever Knight
Angel
insert favorite zombie movie
Highlander: Movies or Series
.....

`a list of 25 is obviosly too short. try 50 or a hundred. the list should also be split for movies and series. wheres men in black, lost in space, voyager, and star wars (original) should be on top of list.
