That was Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Are you talking about The Hammer films from the '60s and '70s with Christopher Lee as Dracula, with Peter Cushing? I love those movies.

Ahhh Dark Shadows... Now there was a soap opera! I use to rush home from school just to catch it. It was one of a kind that show.

Oh yes... The Hammer Horror film factory was also a staple from my youth. My favs were the Dracula films. Lots of cleavage for a young boy to oogle over. LOL

Seems the subject matter has turned to Vampires.

Hey... thanks Baaaaaaaaaaaaaauddy! Now all I have to do is save up the cash to buy that last set. Yesterday I snagged the LOGAN'S RUN movie for $8.00 along with Star Trek Nemesis for the same price. I love bargin shopping.

I am right there with you about saving the pennies. LOL I love the bargain bins at Wal Mart where you can find stuff for 5.50. I recently found the entire first season boxset of the first season of the original Ultraman there a while back! I was in Wally World yesterday morning and found a cool dvd with Matt Frewer as Sherlock Holmes in a new version of "Hound of the Baskervilles" for just 3.00. Gotta love Wal Mart!

I have a love-hate feeling toward Wally-World. I mean, yes, they have some great savings on stuff, but... and here's my complaint... they have a policy that their employees can't say "Merry Christmas" to anyone. What a load of dung! When I heard about this, I started calling them S-Mart. S standing for Satan.

I have been telling my friends the Ewan MacGregor, Scarlett Johansenn film The Island is a remake of a much older movie...and that's about all I've got.
Saw it once on CBS Late Night back in the 70's; a film with a very similar plot but a much lower budget.

Best I've been able to dig up is a movie called The Resurrection of Zachary Wheeler---did I get it?
Am I close?
When all else fails, I turn to yinz guys---assistance requested, please.

The first movie to pop into my mind was "The Clonus Horror". I haven't seen The Island yet, but this sounds like what I have heard about it.

The Clonus Horror sounds more like it.
It looked like it had been shot on a LoCal college campus. The scene that sticks in my mind is as comedic as it is tragic. One of the clones finds a beer can in the creek and, unable to identify the object, takes it to an answer (payphone) booth for clarification.

That help at all?

I remember the setting as being campus like. I don't remember the beer can scene but it has probably been 15 years since i saw it. Wonder if it is on dvd?

Okay a few weeks ago I was enjoying the movie Alien, but there was a scene I don't remember when I saw it in the theater, 30 years ago.

Ripley's on her way to ther shuttle and finds Brett & Dallas, glued to a bulkhead, and Dallas rasps, "Kill me."

Could this be a director's cut I saw, or is my memory going?

I haven't seen that particular scene re-inserted into the film, but I remember seeing it on a deleted scenes feature on an older dvd release, so you must have seen a director's cut.
Your memory is fine, that scene wasn't in the '79 release.

yhank god someone else thought the island was a remake i remember the old one the scene that sticks in my mind is when the clone finds his original but he knows nothing about him but the clone proves it by showing his identical birth mark .
