A new series started on, of all places, Lifetime tonight. Blood Ties is about a vmaprie who is a cop. Sounds kind of similiar to Forever KNight to me. I taped it will let you know what I thought later.

Well since there was nothing on Sunday night I gave it a shot. Wasn't impressed with the acting or writing in the pilot, although Christina Cox (PI Vicki Nelson) is good to look at. There will be some things that remind you of Forever Knight, especially since it's in the same city with the tower in the background. I'm sure they're going to play out the love triangle between Vicki, Henry and ex lover Mike for a whole season, unless they kill off Mike early because to me he's just a third wheel. The CGI also needs to improve, the big demon boss really looked silly, I mean I've seen better in the saturday night sci-fi channel movies. Despite some of the negatives this could be a guilty pleasure show for me, mostly to see the actress Christina Cox. On the other hand I won't be hanging around if they're creating their own version of a over the age of 30 "Buffy", I see there's a voodoo zombie in the next episode.

Well, the pre-show info I had was wrong, and the vampire is NOT a cop, and the lady PI is an Ex-cop. Surprisingly enough, I had not heard that this was based on a series of novels by Tanya Huff, which I have some of. Good series. Like you, Rayman, I cringed over the effects at the end, but the rest of the show worked really well for me. You oughta pick up one of the books and check it out.

As I predicted this is becoming a guilty pleasure show for me, pretty good zombie episode last night. There were even some funny lines "How many times I have to tell you, don't eat the bartender."lol If they keep this up the show might develop into something more.

I enjoyed it a lot. LOVED the fact that Victoria got played and the bad guy was a switcheroo on us.
