Wow. Never having felt that way about anyone, or having the opportunity for such feelings to develop, I really wouldn't know what it's like. I usually try to avoid long-distance relationships for that very reason--I'm in no position to uproot myself and just "go for it". Not that I'm trying to rain on your parade, but for me that kind of thing is strictly fairy-tale. But, who knows, maybe someone can change my mind. That IS why I'm here after all...

There's an old adage:

"A woman should never follow a man... unless she enjoys the view."

Well have you actually met the man in person? How long have you know him? From reading your post it hasn't been that long and you might be rushing into a decision you might regret later.

I am of two minds on the subject, myself. I have tried the long distance relationship thing and had it bomb disastrously, so I could never recommend it. If you two have met, but haven't been able to spend significant time with each other, then I would be skeptical.

On the other hand, I am a hopeles romantic and belive that the possibility for a soulmate exists. Just because I have had a bad experience with it, doesn't mean it won't work for others. This is really a decision you have to make for yourself.

Just don't let the heart drown out any objections your mind is giving you.

With all due respect Kira how could you be Heart Broken ....you hardly knew the guy!!

Perhaps a slower approach would serve you better building a friendship up and then going further from there

Okay I have done my two minutes of Dr Phil ...... I thank you and good night

Devil Boy,

Thank you but I can't explain it. Its like I thought we really had something, he knew everything about me. We talked everyday about everything from work to his wild s----l fantasies. There was only one topic that was taboo and I guess I should have seen the red flags. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you are having knowledge of many persons at once and one person wants a kiss and you won't kiss them. I mean, surely someone is not so selfish that they won't do what pleases their partner. Anyhow, I guess I have learned yet again not to trust and that most men are selfish. I was raised to do whatever it takes to please my partner whether or not I totally like it. Thanks for your help or advice but I will just go slow. I don't know what do you think......

Kira, I don't know the situation, but have you considered that it may
not be selfishness? We all have our flaws and our hangups, and
it may be that something makes him uncomfortable -- not just that
he doesn't like it.

You can say that if he loved you, he would do what it takes to
please you, but at the same time, one could also argue that if
you loved him, you wouldn't press him to do something that made
him uncomfortable. If you love him, is whatever it is really so
important to you that it's a deal-breaker after how happy and gushing
you were just a few days ago?

That brings up the question if it's really love, or infatuation,
that was going on. And if it was love, maybe you each just have
different ideas about what love entails.
